Meet the New FJ...

Ok, so yesterday we went to go browse the car lots. Browse being the key word. Warren has been thinking about looking for something new and had it narrowed down to several rather different vehicles and wanted to spend some time to see if we could eliminate some from the list.

So off we went....we trailed through several different ones all up I-45 to see what we could see...I managed to sneak in one scrapbook store and a yarn store drive-by before we stopped at the Toyota dealership, where we looked around some and were approached by our 2nd salesperson of the day (and ya'll know how that is!! avoid all contact if at all possible! duck, run, stay in vehicle while looking so as not to be molested by the car salesmen! Watch out!)

Lol, actually the guy was really nice and let us look around some, W decided he wanted to test drive ( I told him he should that might make a difference on if he likes a car or not). So we took the Cruiser out, and then brought it home! ha

Actually he hadn't really decided if he had to have it, it's just when we started asking about price the guy made an offer and W decided to look around some more, that the price kept on dropping! Each offer the guy would make, W would say he was still going to go browse other places, then the price would drop another grand or so!

So we finally sent them away and talked about it, went and looked at the car again...and decided, why not? Toyota has top crash test ratings right now, it has airbags all over the place, it has good resale value, and it's cute!

Oh, and I forgot to mention...it is a Dr. vehicle because it came complete with a First Aid kit...down to the tweezers, butterfly band-aids, and all! (I think he threw in his own scalpel tho!) ha!

(And Grace will fit!!) hee hee...along with the 15 children he keeps saying he wants to have! HA

Knitting, New Cars, and Charity Balls! Oh My!

First off, we have hat progress:

I began decreasing last night after figuring out The Math Formula from CrazyAuntPurl. Number of cast on stitches = 75. Find a number that you can divide into it easily (15) and then take away 2. Then you have the number of stitches you need to knit before you knit two together. Then decrease from there (so my first round is k13, k2tog, then the next round is k12, k2tog, decreasing each round or row by one). I hope I'm doing it right. So far so good, I've even switched to double pointed needles!

Also, in random news, I found a scrapbook store today :-) One that seems like a pretty cool one. About 30 min away in Friendswood. Must feed the habit.

Moving on to more exciting news...we went to BROWSE the car lots today...just looking...funny tho how when you are just browsing you come home with something new! Warren got a brand spankin new Toyota FJ Cruiser today! I'll give more details tomorrow when I can actually take some pictures of it. It was too dark by the time we got home and I didn't have my camera with me at the dealership so...!! Come back tomorrow for the full story and some photos.

We did however manage to race to the Charity Ball whenever we got done...we were a fashionable 2 hours late, but they had only just begun serving the dinner so we weren't THAT late! If you MySpace you can check out the slideshow of photo's there or here is a snapshot of us...

We made it in time to have a dinner salad, spinach stuffed chicken breast with creamed potatoes and squeaky green beans, iced tea, & chocolate mousse for dessert w/ coffee. AND we finally danced together, our first dance...we've never been out dancing so it was a fun jazz band that was cool. AND I finally got to wear my cool Italy dress! :-) We didn't get to do any silent auction but by then it had been such a rat race that it was nice to just go and have a nice dinner (already paid for) and chat with friends. I also like getting to put some faces with names of people that he studies with...one couple live pretty close to us, we might try to get together more. They are on Tuna St. Lol...love the fish street names!
K, night ya'll! Look for pic's tomorrow!
